We would like to announce that we have received Public Interest Corporation Authorization from the Prime Minister and have become a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, as of April 1, 2012.
While keeping the conventional business activities we have had thus far, we plan to develop and strengthen our public benefit services by conducting a wide variety of programs which would serve to further promote intercultural intellectual dialogue, cultivate human resources in the field of multicultural exchange, disseminate information on cultural exchange, and make a social contribution.
Also, while we continue to maintain and cherish our facility, we hope to make the International House of Japan a place of respite so that more people would be interested in coming here.
This year, the International House of Japan marks the sixtieth anniversary of its founding. As a hub of international cultural exchange and intellectual cooperation, the International House of Japan continues to strive for increased efficiency, as well as for the expansion of its activities, in order to fulfill its public mission. We wish to have your continued support and cooperation.
Yasushi Akashi
Chairman
