User Guide

Hours of operation: Monday through Saturday, from 9 AM to 6 PM
Periodical section is open all day from 9 AM to 10 PM

Closed: Sunday, Holidays, New Years recess

Book circulation: Loaning available for 3 weeks with no limits on volumes.
* The loan period can be renewed twice.
* 10 yen overdue fine per title per day

Journal circulation: Except for current issues and partial titles, journals are available for loaning for 3 weeks. No limits on volumes.
* The loan period can be renewed twice.
* 10 yen overdue fine per title per day

Reservations: Available through OPAC, phone and e-mail

Users: Members of the International House of Japan, House guests, Library members and users with introduction letters.
Internet accessibility: Internet accessible computer terminals are available. Personal computer usage is also available.

Borrowing other libraries materials and introduction to other libraries:
Through the library network, we will supply materials and photocopies through out the world by actual cost.
We Will assist you in process for using other libraries and institutions. (Free)

Photocopy service: Under the copyright law limits, library staff will take photocopies at 30 yen per sheet (from B5 to A3 size) in black and white and color will be 100 yen per sheet. Self copies are at 20 yen per sheet for black and white and 80 yen for color.

E-Mail magazine: New arrivals and news of the library are sent every month as the International House of Japan news.
