The International House of Japan Library
The International House of Japan Library is a special library for Japanese Studies which was established in 1953.
The library has been a center supporting Japanese Studies academics and information specialists in Japan, by organizing workshops for Japanese Studies information specialists, publishing reference guidebooks for Japanese Studies and so on, with cooperating institutions overseas and in Japan, as well as offering general library services.
The library is situated in a building listed as a major work of Japanese modern architecture and has beautiful views of a traditional Japanese-style garden reflecting the changing seasons.

Dec. 2, 2011 Notice of Year-end/New Year's Recess and Suspension of OPAC
The library will be closed from Thursday, December 29, 2011 and will reopen on Thursday, January 5, 2012.
The periodical section will be open as usual from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Please note that the Internet library catalog (OPAC) will also be suspended during this period.

Apr. 5, 2011 Grant from Kasumi Kaikan
The library has received a grant from the Kasumi Kaikan.
As a result, books that played an important role in the spread of Japonism have been added to our collection.
Aug. 6, 2010 Donation from Ms. Akiko Ohkochi
Thanks to a generous donation from Ms. Akiko Ohkochi, a member of the International House of Japan, new library bookshelves were added, and new tops put on the reading tables.
