Members (except for Library Members) and their spouses enjoy benefits and discounts exclusive to members.
- Members (except for Term Members) may recommend applicants for membership and provide introductions for persons desiring to make use of I-House facilities.
- Members will receive the IHJ Annual Report, the IHJ Bulletin and IHJ announcements.
- New members will be presented with two books of their choice from the I-House Press.
Members are welcome to attend IHJ-sponsored lectures and other events free of charge or at reduced rates.
Members may purchase selected I-House Press publications at special rates.
Members receive five annual coupons which allow them to invite non-member guests to lectures and other events at the member’s rate.
Members may use the library reading room.
(Study desks, two personal computers, and a photocopy machine are available for use.)
Members may borrow books and magazines (except for reference works).
Members may utilize the expertise of the library research staff.
Members may request inter-library loans.
Members may request letters of introduction to other libraries in Japan.

Paying the annual membership dues and facilities charges by automatic bank transfer.
The annual membership dues and facilities charges can be paid by automatic transfer. The transfer system can save applying each time for payment and it doesn't cost any commission fees at all. Please contact the following address if you would like to receive an application form for the automatic transfer of funds.
- One or two months is required after doing the entrance paperwork until the first transaction can be done.
- Your membership dues from next year will be withdrawn on the 26th (or the next business day if the 26th is a bank holiday) of the month of expiration. Facility charges from next month will be withdrawn on the 26th of the following month. Please arrange for sufficient funds to be in your account by the day before.
