The Asia Leadership Fellow Program (ALFP) has for the past eleven years brought distinguished Asian intellectuals to Japan to discuss pan-Asian issues in a collaborative setting. For the past two months, six ALFP fellows have interacted with each other and with civil society in Japan in interdisciplinary dialogues. They will be addressing a two-day public symposium on the theme “Unity in Diversity: From Exclusive State to Collaborating Communities.” They will explore the notions of “people,””state” and “security” through art, sexuality, theories and images from Honk-Kong, China, Malaysia, India, Thailand and Japan.

The ALFP is a joint program of the International House of Japan and the Japan Foundation, and invites you to join the fellows in their collective exploration and inquiry.
