[Library Display] Memorial Exhibition for Professor Ian Nish (Dec. 5, 2022)

A great authority on the history of Anglo-Japanese relations and Japanese diplomacy, Prof. Ian Nish passed away in July. In addition to being emeritus professor of international history at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and honorary senior research associate at the Suntory-Toyota International Centres, University of London, Nish was a longtime friend and member of I-House. He participated in many conferences organized or supported by I-House, such as the Anglo-Japanese Historical Conference in July 1979 and International Conference: The Pacific War Re-examined in November, 1991.

The Library is holding a small exhibition introducing Professor Nish’s work as a tribute to his great contributions to Anglo-Japanese relations. His daughter, Ms. Alison Nish, has kindly provided photographs for this exhibition.
