Long-time friend and advisor to the I-House Donald Richie passed away at age 88 on February 19 after a long illness. Donald is known not only for his contributions to the internationalization of Japanese film, but also for his insightful writings on Japanese culture, musical compositions, fiction and his own experimental films.
