“Healthy Incentives for Information Integrity”
The speech will examine the fundamental role of information integrity for sustainable development, peace and security and human rights for all.
It will discuss the impact of information threats – from disinformation and hate to polarized digital spaces to the demise of public interest media – on the ability of the international community to meet the needs of the communities we serve. It will explore a range of solutions, such as enhancing accountability through regulatory guardrails, empowering individuals with more choice, control and access, and more effective research to better understand our information environments.
It will highlight concrete recommendations for the private sector that will both strengthen information integrity and improve the bottom line. It will explore ways in which collaboration between advertisers, advertising platforms, policymakers, civil society and researchers can create a safer and more humane information ecosystem.
