I-House is happy to welcome economist Noriyuki Yanagawa as the first speaker of 2024 for its “Special Lecture Series for Members,” which invites prominent members as guest lecturers.

Yanagawa is a member of the expert committee of the government’s Council of New Form of Capitalism Realization and appears regularly in the media to promote investments in human resources and argue for a new growth strategy. He has a unique educational background, choosing to study on his own after graduating from junior high school in Brazil, where his parents were transferred, and eventually enrolling in a correspondence course at Keio University by passing the University Entrance Qualification Test. He continued his correspondence studies in Singapore and went on to earn a doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Economics. His recent activities go beyond the scope of his specialization in financial contracts, law, and economics to encompass new approaches to learning. How will current global trends affect economic activity in 2024? Yanagawa will identify truly essential factors and offer his personal diagnoses in discussing the “Economic Outlook for Japan and the World in 2024.”

After his presentation, members are invited to a reception with drinks and refreshments.
